Project 52 is dedicated to implementing a multi-faceted approach to combat the effects of extreme heat. Central to this, is the design and distribution of heat-resilient kits to help relieve the immediate effects of heat exposure. In addition to this, the project is also committed to developing a comprehensive and educational resource pack for workers, based on helping them recognize signs and symptoms of heat-related illnesses and other environmental conditions for effective precaution.
Beyond immediate relief measures, the project also aims to expand its impact by raising awareness of current challenges and effective long-term solutions to the heat crisis. This includes authoring a white paper report, as well as organizing webinars featuring experts within the field. The Project also aims to collaborate with corporate entities to get them to pledge to ensure better working conditions for employed laborers.
By combining direct action with educational and community participation-based initiatives, Project 52’s goal is to create a long-term positive impact with respect to safer health outcomes for outdoor workers vis-a-vis climate change.
